The Hi-Fi (Ottawa, ON) • With guests 3 Apples High ($3)

Our first show with the new line-up, and 3 Apples High was a hard act to follow! Their rockin' set moved gradually from lo-fi pop songs to screaming angst-filled thrashers but they never lost their sense of humour throughout. Definitely looking forward to playing with them again!

Despite a few screw-ups on our part, the crowd of 30-or-so at the small club seemed very receptive to the material. This marked the introduction of three previously unplayed songs and the rest of the originals carried over from the old line-up. Everyone had a lovely time.

Screw-ups I can remember:

Paramount: Andrew played the drum intro from Potential instead
Spin Cycle: I didn't play the whole guitar intro part, screwing everyone else up and causing everyone to miss the stop at the beginning of the first verse
Feeling California: George missed the change at the end of the first chorus, causing mass confusion and delayed start to vocals in the first verse
Spin Cycle, Your Disease, Tetanus Shot: I still don't quite know all the lyrics but I improvised.

Bryan is apparently some sort of God. Or maybe I just didn't hear his screw-ups! :-)

Why would I want to post screw-ups for the world to see? I don't know. Call me a masochist I guess.
