Lyrics

Woke up this morning, this is how I felt Bucket of lead under my bed and time itself Pictures of pictures don't do much good Under panes of glass and frames of wood Wish I could What I meant to say was twice as good There should be something out back, or There could be There should be a bucket as big as the world Could you fill it up? (repeat) I wish I could fill it up And I wish I could Push them back Push back the frontiers (3x) I'll never change but give me another year and I'll Push back the frontiers Marmalade and razor blades and weapons of survival If I get my head out of bed I might be gone a while Check the time to see that the time isn't getting out of hand Check to see that time fits in the plan I wish I could push it back And I wish I could push them back These walls are high enough, these Doors are locked enough for me These mountains high enough these Rivers wide enough for me... Push them back.

Story

I wrote this song and played it in the first band I was ever in, Ten Miles High. It was subsequently recorded by Jimmy George on the CD "A Month of Sundays". It's been kicking around for years and now it’s started cropping up in the Laguna live set. I guess it's not a bad song, people seem to like it.
