Zaphod Beeblebrox 1, York St. in the Market (Ottawa, ON) • Opening for Fan Belt Seven ($5)

One of our more fun shows, and a good crowd came out to Zaphod's (although half of them trickled in towards the end of our set, as is often the case at early shows...) Fan Belt Seven are a bunch of cool guys and they played well. Never has a singing drummer sounded so good since the days of the Minutemen and Triumph! Their covers of King of Pain and Footloose rocked as well. Our set was remarkable for it's lack of remarkability, played a coupla new tunes "Page 68" and "Flattered and Confused". Monitors kept cutting out but I don't really like to hear my own voice anyway so it didn't matter much. Every show people seem to be a little more enthusiastic when they say how we sounded so it seems like we're progressing. Looking forward to the Tricky Woo show next month...
