St. Patrick's Day Music -
Happy St. Patty's Day
from Jimmy George

aka fake Irish day (for those who aren't Irish)
aka Amateur Drinking Day

Whatever you call the day, here are a few Irish/Celtic drinking songs, written and recorded by previously-defunct yet occasionally active Ottawa Canada celtic-rock band by the name of Jimmy George.

The first 3 songs feature the following lineup: Eric Altman (drums), J Todd (vocals & acoustic guitar), Joel Carlson (mandolin), Jeff Kerr (banjo), Mike "Spike" Lawson (electric guitar), Mickey Vallee (accordion, penny whistle), Steve Donnelly (bass, mandolin) and Michael Eady (fiddle). Recorded at Sound of One Hand Studio in Ottawa.

"Another Round" features features Tim Connolly on drums, Mickey Valley on accordion, Greg Langille on guitar & backing vocals, Joel Carlson on mandolin, and Steve Donnelly on bass, crappy banjo and lead vox. Recorded in Greg's basement, hence the slightly inferior sound quality.

MP3 files for your listening pleasure:

Breakfast with St. Swithin (from the album A Month of Sundays)

My Final Days With You (from A Month of Sundays)

Token Celtic Drinking Song (from Hotel Motel)
- for some reason this song is circulating on peer-to-peer networks labelled as The Pogues with Steve Earle - funny but not true

Another Round (this was written about the Jimmy George trip busking in England and Ireland - it was supposed to be on the band's "Greatest Hits" album "Same Sh!t Different Day" (available at the link below) but was omitted due to a last-minute error on my part. So here it is.)

Jimmy George (the band) will be celebrating its 20th anniversary next year. Stay tuned...
